I was a key team member in developing and implementing the Style Engineers curriculum developed by Cornell University and the University of Minnesota and funded by the National Science Foundation. Style Engineers successfully uses fashion to engage middle-school girls in STEM. The program sponsored camps and events that served over 350 girls from 2012 to 2015. The project trained 50 adults to lead 29 hands-on activities with girls. 40% of girls and leaders were from underrepresented groups.
We are now seeking external funding to continue the program.
